Robots that Care initiates and participates in Research and Development projects. We have experience with human centered design and science driven innovations. Through our extensive networks we are in touch with the problems in healthcare today as well as with technological and scientific developments that might solve those problems.
Our research focuses on the value of certain interactive features of robots in their communication with certain groups of people. Specifically, our current interests are:
- Robotics in a learning environment for (very) young children with autism spectrum disorders (learning of social behavioral patterns)
- Robotics as part of the care for elderly people with dementia (interactive huggable robots to combat loneliness, stress and anxiety)
